Center Apeldoorn in sign of classic cars and pedal car racing for the young racers
From 29 June to 1 July, Apeldoorn will be the international center of the most beautiful cars for three days at the Concours d’Élégance Het Loo Palace. The event starts this time at the Apeldoorn Market Square, where Apeldoorn Binnenstad and the newly established Veluwsche Oldtimer Club will kick off on Friday, June 29th. More than a week earlier, there is a Pedal Car Race for the youngest race fans.
Nowadays every young car enthusiast dreams of becoming the new Max. The first steps in that direction can be taken on Wednesday, June 20. Then from 13:00 a staircase car race will take place at the Raadhuisplein in Apeldoorn. This not only brings Apeldoorn into the atmosphere of the Concours d’Élégance, which starts on June 29, the Pedal Car Race also counts as an advance on the GoodYear Spint with pre-war cars on the Middellaan of the palace that takes place more than a week later. The Pedal car Race is open to children from four to eight years old and can register via email@example.com. Some haste is required, the number of places is limited.
More than a week after the dust clouds of the staircase car race have been built, the international Concours d’Élégance takes place in the gardens of the Het Loo Palace. The kick-off for this event will also take place in the heart of Apeldoorn: on Friday, June 29 at 11 a.m., around twenty classic vans from the Veluwsche Oldtimer Club will gather at the Marktplein in Apeldoorn to ride with alderman Jeroen Joon to Paleis Het Loo for the festive opening of the competition. It is the first time that the competition is held from Friday to Sunday.
Veluwsche Oldtimer Club
Oldtimers and Apeldoorn. It is clearly a nice combination. Not only because of the annual competition, there are also many old-timer owners and enthusiasts in the region. That is why the Veluwsche Oldtimer Club (VOC) has recently been established. The club is there to promote the wonderful hobby of owning and enjoying old-timers, including events, rides and meetings. It does not matter what the brand, type, year of construction or condition of the car is, if it is older than 25 years. The club even investigates the possibility of a real old-timer center in the region, where spontaneous encounters can take place and possibly key space and parking facilities are available. One of the initiators and board member of the VOC is Classic Events, the organization behind the Concours d’Élégance Palace Het Loo.
